Learning how to create and implement an effective article marketing strategy can be a major aid in helping you get your articles syndicated more widely and helping get more traffic to your websites. Article marketing is an easy and proven technique that works. You simply need to have a plan, and be able to execute it consistently over time. The first thing you need to get a handle on is the selection of the keywords you are hoping to target. This is the most critical portion of the process. Determine the primary and secondary keywords you'd like to be found for, and work those into the title (most important), tags, and the body of the article itself. Don't go overboard here. Write naturally, but make sure it is clear what your article is talking about.
Additionally, in your article resource box, make sure your keyword is anchor text linked to your site. This is your biggest search engine benefit, and will help get your site ranked for these words. These are also a good source of easy backlinks, and often can get you in-text links, which are more valuable than resource box links. The other great part about Web 2.0 sites is that the possibilities are virtually endless, as new sites spring up every day, and Google loves the latest, shiny new toys.
However the most important piece of any article marketing strategy would be consistency. Slow and steady wins the day. If you post a dozen articles the first week or so, and then nothing more for months, don't expect an avalanche of links or traffic to come your way. Have a plan, and even outsource the work if necessary, but make sure to make it consistent over time. A systematic plan that keeps your work in front the public on a consistent basis, will find you being rewarded time and again!
