I have been a blogger and Internet marketer for years now and I am going to bring you my top blog tips for writing great posts. I am not going to list these in any order at all, but they should all be studied and applied at the same time to each post you blog.
Be sure your content is clear, concise and able to be read easily on the computer screen. Blog formatting is different than other types of formatting.
Length is also a big issue with blogging - this is one of the main ways the formatting differs from regular formatting. Blog posts should be close to three hundred words and never more than five hundred words. Write more than that and you risk losing readers. People reading blogs have a shorter attention span and less time than someone who is sitting down to read an issue of the New Yorker or Money.
Keep Content in the Niche: This is another problem I have seen from time to time that needs adddressing, I think. You should be very aware of your niche and write for it and only for it. You should really avoid rambling and ranting about things that are off subject unless, of course, ranting and rambling are your chosen niche. If you lose focus on the subject of your niche, so will the readers and then they will more than likely think of some other website that relates to what you now have them thinking about.
Flow and webpage layout: This isn't so much a tip as just good advice to follow. You need to make sure your page flows from one thing to the next. You do not need too many widgets just because they look cool, nor do you want too much content all on one page. Try to make your blog easy on the eyes. Make sure your attention is not too distracted by too many things. Some ads are good and some widgets are good, but the key to everything in blogging is moderation.
Make use of your space: What ever you do though, you need to make use of all the space you have without making it look cluttered. This is where the art of blogging comes in. You must find the perfect balance of empty space and blog components.
The best thing I can tell you is to go today and get a free blog. You will never know how good of a feeling you get from blogging, from really sharing you message, until you do it.

Women Networking Organizations Bring Businesswomen Together...
Are women networking organizations the fastest growing trend in American business? This might be so. Including online networking groups, networking organizations focused on women are cropping up all over the country. It seems all women in business are spending their lunch time or after work hours at networking parties, connecting over wine or coffee, or sitting in front of the computer, typing messages to other business women. So, as a women entrepreneur or executive, you may be wondering: do I have to network?
You already are. Unless you are sitting in a cave, you are networking, whether that means meeting with clients, greeting business people you know when you are out and about, or calling a woman you know for advice on a business problem. But do you need to join a formal networking association? That depends on you and your needs. If you are very uncomfortable with chit chat or being in the middle of a group of people, and you find that you don’t need to formally network to advance your business, then you might not need an association. But if your business depends upon the continuous acquisition of new leads or learning new and better technology and business methods, then a networking association can be a valuable strategy for you.
Different female networking associations serve different needs. Here are a few:
Education: Some networking organizations feature speakers, workshops, and seminars on topics of interest to business women. There may or may not be a networking component at these events.
Contacts: These types of associations facilitate the exchange of information between women, putting you in touch with someone who you can help or who can help you. These can be very formal or quite informal. The speed-dating phenomenon has even touched here, with speed-networking events.
Escape: Some female networking organizations are simply places to get away from the business place, especially if that place is dominated by men. These events are usually strictly social and are a good opportunity to bond with other female entrepreneurs and executives.
Message Boards: With the proliferation of online networking sites that are developed specifically for women, the message board feature has become a popular place for women to vent, to advise, and to find someone with similar interests.
Project or Service: Service organizations founded by men for community projects or charitable projects have traditionally been potent networking groups as well. Many women have joined female service organizations to assist with humanitarian projects and have discovered the powerful networking function here as well.
Support: Women networking organizations have found a special niche with this function. To face the legendary barriers in the business world, women have developed support groups that also serve as an important networking location.
Whatever type of female networking association you decide to try, you should have some clear goals in mind. Knowing what you want to accomplish with your networking attempts will help you choose the women networking organization that will work best for you.
Home Care Marketing | Selecting Direct Mail Lists For Home C...
Direct marketing is a cost effective method of connecting with potential customers. With direct marketing, the recipient can be highly targeted by using demographics. Being able to target your prospects makes direct mail one of the most effective methods of marketing. Picture a target. The center of the target represents your audience. Direct mail is like using a rifle to hit the center of the target, instead of a shotgun. Mass marketing gets your message in front of many people, but fewer likely prospects.
Define your target
Before you look for a mailing list, you must first decide who the target audience is. What would the demographics or characteristics of that group look like? For consumer targets the demographics might include: age, income, home value, number of children and even whether they have a cat or dog. Business demographics may include: SIC code (type of business), annual sales, number of employees and building square footage. You will also need to determine what geographic area you want to target. You may decide your target area is as large as nationwide or a small as a particular neighborhood or apartment complex. Selecting a radius of a certain address is especially helpful for retail establishments.
Get Counts
Once you profile your target audience you can contact mailing list vendors to obtain counts and pricing. Once you've provided the details of your target audience the list company will search their lists for records matching your requirements. They made provide a report that shows the counts for each of the demographics and geography you've specified. Some providers have the ability to plot the records on a map, allowing you to visualize where the targets are located. Some questions to ask each vendor:
What is the source of the data?, How is the data compiled?, Is the data self-reported or compiled?, How often is it updated?, When was it last updated?
Use and Pricing
When it comes to use, there are generally two types: one-time use license and multi-use license. A one-time use license allows you to mail to the list one time only. With a multi-use license, you are allowed to market to the list as many times as you want within a one year period. As a general rule, unless otherwise specified, use of data is licensed not sold. Pricing is determined by how many records you select and which demographics you select. The list price is usually stated in a "per thousand" format. There is the "base price" for the initial record and a per thousand price for each additional demographic "select." Geographic selections are generally provided at no charge. Multi-use pricing is generally two times the base price plus the additional selects.
Mail It
It is recommended that a test mailing to a small sample of records be done prior to mailing to the entire list. This will allow for measuring response rates, headlines and offers. After analyzing the responses from the test mailing and making any changes, you are ready to mail to the rest of the list.

How to Structure Links to Increase Your Site's Link Reputati...
If you've been trying to market online through the search engines for any amount of time, you are no doubt aware that links play a significant role in determining whether or not your site will be found anywhere near the top of the organic search results. This is the big prize, positioning your site somewhere within the first few pages of Google's (or Yahoo's or Bing's) search results) as you, yourself can testify. When you do a search, how many pages do you scroll through before moving on, or trying a different search? I would bet it's not much more than 3 pages, if that.
So how does one use links to help get those coveted positions? One way is through the use of link reputation and the anchor text you use to create your links.
Link reputation is a combination of several things; the words themselves, their relevance to your site, the words surrounding those keywords, and the relative “weight” of the site where the link comes from. Let's look at these items a bit more closely.
Obviously, you want targeted keywords for your site, and they should be closely related if not matching the content on your web page. It would do you little good to get visitors to your site for the keyword “gerbil food” if your web page is about automatic transmissions.
The words surrounding your link text matter as well. Google looks at not only the link text, but the surrounding words as well to determine the strength of a link. All that this means is make the words around your links as topical as the link itself, and you'll be good to go. The page rank and trust of the site where the link is emanating from also matter. If your link is a front page link from an authority site in your niche, (let's says it “scuba gear”) it will carry a good deal more weight than one from a page full of diverse links on somebody's link pages buried deep within their site, surrounded by links for forex, acai berries, and teeth whiteners. These pages are seldom spidered, and Google sees them for what they are, a list of links, whereas the front page link from that authority site conveys a wholly different message. It says, “This link matters, and you should take a look.”
Aim to structure your links with the following basic ideas in mind:
• Use relevant anchor text
• Surround your links with topical words
• Strive for good neighborhoods” for you links to live in
• Don't take the easy way out; spend your linking efforts wisely, and you'll be rewarded with links that not only will help you, but last longer.
Many times webmasters, lured by the promise of easy rankings and fast results, opt for linking schemes that are either poor in quality, or worse, will leave a large footprint that screams to Google “link spam". Take the time to do this right. You be glad you did.
How to Shape an Article Marketing Strategy
Learning how to create and implement an effective article marketing strategy can be a major aid in helping you get your articles syndicated more widely and helping get more traffic to your websites. Article marketing is an easy and proven technique that works. You simply need to have a plan, and be able to execute it consistently over time. Let's take a peek at some of the things you'll want to consider when crafting your own unique way of marketing articles.
The first thing you need to get a handle on is the selection of the keywords you are hoping to target. This is the most critical portion of the process. Determine the primary and secondary keywords you'd like to be found for, and work those into the title (most important), tags, and the body of the article itself. Don't go overboard here. Write naturally, but make sure it is clear what your article is talking about.
Additionally, in your article resource box, make sure your keyword is anchor text linked to your site. This is your biggest search engine benefit, and will help get your site ranked for these words. Do a good job of selling in your resource box as well: this is your chance to pitch yourself or your product; don't fail to give a good effort here.
When deciding where to submit your articles, one the major decisions you'll have is whether to go wide and distribute it to hundreds of article directories, or to select a few that carry more weight in the search engines, particularly Google. Some of these include directories like EzineArticles, ArticlesBase, GoArticles and Buzzle. There are advantages to both methods, but you still need to decide.
Don't fail to take advantage of all the opportunities that exist in the world of Web 2.0. There are oodles of sites where you can place your content that are highly trafficked, and carry much weight. Sites like HubPages, Squidoo, Scribd, Zimbio and others come to mind. These are also a good source of easy backlinks, and often can get you in-text links, which are more valuable than resource box links. The other great part about Web 2.0 sites is that the possibilities are virtually endless, as new sites spring up every day, and Google loves the latest, shiny new toys.
However the most important piece of any article marketing strategy would be consistency. Slow and steady wins the day. If you post a dozen articles the first week or so, and then nothing more for months, don't expect an avalanche of links or traffic to come your way. Have a plan, and even outsource the work if necessary, but make sure to make it consistent over time. A systematic plan that keeps your work in front the public on a consistent basis, will find you being rewarded time and again!
Using Your Online Marketing Blog to Promote Your Business
One of the very best ways you can promote your business these days is through the use of an online marketing blog, designed to direct readers and potential customers to your business by developing relationship, gaining trust, and being in general a useful resource for those looking for what you have to offer. What are some of the ways you can use your blog to promote your business? Let's take a quick look.
Perhaps the best way is to create a blog that visitors determine to be an authority in your market or niche. These types of sites are returned to again and again, bookmarked, (thus providing you with all-important backlinks) and are where the modern consumer is getting much of their information all the way through the buying process. If you've created the kind of blog that is trustworthy, not attempting to sell your visitors every second, and offers genuinely useful information, you'll soon find that not only will you be gaining in popularity, but you'll be doing less and less to gain that notoriety. Your customers and visitors will be doing it for you. Such is the way of the Social Web. People talk, text, Tweet and otherwise spread the word. Just make sure they're talking about you and your blog!
Your blog should be a great place to dispense free nuggets of information that will be is use to your readers. However, be sure that the ultimate carrot lies awaits them at your main business site. In all cases direct your interested visitors to your business through the use of giveaways, contests, special offers, coupons, sales, limited time promotions and more. People love to feel as though they're getting tremendous value for their time and money. Make sure you strive to offer both!
Make sure you optimize your marketing blog so it will rank in the search engines as well. Make sure you're always on the lookout for linking opportunities, and utilizing other SEO methods to make sure your blog is found within the first few pages of the search results. Write and distribute new and fresh content all the time and try to get it syndicated, thus improving your blogs reach. Have guest bloggers contribute and do the same on blogs related to yours.
Make your blog as interactive as possible. Talk to your visitors, and learn from them. Conduct polls, ask lots of questions; this is a quick and cheap way to conduct market research from some of the most targeted people you can find.
Don't inundate your blog with ads, as this will confuse the purpose of your blog. An exception to this might be high-paid contextual advertising, but be aware that generally anything that takes the visitor away from your blog, unless they're going to your main site, is not a good thing.
Using an online marketing blog as a tool to help promote your business is a great idea, and one that will bear fruit for years to come. All it costs you is time, and this will be returned to you many times over!
What's the Best Blog Software To Use?
If you are new to blogging, you may have some confusion as to which is the best blog software to get you started. You know, or have heard, that blogging can be a fun and useful endeavor, but that's where the guidance has ended. Left out were the parts about just what to do, what is possible, costs and useful tips that can make the blogging experience so much easier and efficient. Let's examine what I feel is the best blog software out there, and why you'd want to give it a whirl.
There are many types of blogging platforms out there, many free, several paid. The free ones range from a simple blog on a hosted site, like Blogspot.com (owned by Google) Weebly, Tripod and LiveJournal, to name a few of the more prominent ones; to blogs hosted on your own domain, and these can run the gamut from free, like WordPress, to paid blog software like MoveableType and TypePad.
The advantages of the free hosted blog platforms are that they are free, hosted for you, and are usually very easy to set up. You can have it up and online in minutes. Some of the disadvantages are that it's harder to monetize your blog, and you're stuck with much of what they give you.
Hosting a blog on your own domain requires a bit more expense, but gives you the advantage of total flexibility and freedom to do as you choose. One disadvantage is that there is a bit more of a learning curve.
Determine your goals before making this decision. Is this blog for personal use, an informational blog, or a marketing blog used to either make sales, collect leads of opt-in, or to direct visitors to affiliate offers? There is a distinct difference in each of these, and your decision will be made in part by the flexibility offered by these different blogging platforms.
At this time I feel that the free blogging software offered by WordPress is the best for most purposes. It is very easy to install, has a wealth of useful plugins that can help you achieve almost anything you need to on your blog, and is frequently updated. There are many free or paid "themes", which are your blog templates and can be customized to nearly any look you desire. This is not the WordPress.com version we are talking about here, but the actual WordPress blog software you download to your own domain. You obviously need a hosting account, and many now offer a WordPress install with a few clicks.
WordPress offers the best opportunity for you to get a good looking, self-hosted blog up on the Web in a very short amount of time. You can do so many things with it without having to suffer through a grueling learning curve, and your blog can be a valuable addition to your business or pleasure. WordPress is the best choice out there at the moment. Give it a try, and you'll be glad you did.
How Bloggers Can Make Money With a Popular Blog
You may have heard tales of how bloggers are making a killing online with popular blogs, and chances are much of this is true. A popular blog can get you a boatload of traffic, and properly monetized, this traffic can bring in a full-time income and more. Let's not put the cart before the horse however: what is needed first is a popular blog. Without that, there's no one around to shovel cash your way, no matter how pretty or significant your weblog is. Let's look at how you make a blog everyone wants to visit, and then how you can take advantage of that popularity.
The best way to come up with a blog that goes viral and garners a large readership is to first of all get involved with your blog. This means taking ownership, writing vibrant, well-thought out and meaningful content, as well as doing your best to get your blog in front of as many eyeballs as possible. There are some things you can do along those lines to help yourself.
Whatever your blog's subject, make sure you have the most current, vital, and useful information you can give people. You want to be the place people go when they need to gain insight on your niche. Create another ho-hum blog, and you'll be lumped with all the rest of those, lost in the bottom of the search results.
Promote your blog wherever and however you can. Make use of all the SEO you can, utilize your blog's RSS feeds, and guest blog on other blogs in your market to get more visibility. Use linkbait. Get controversial (in a good way). Use the art of headlines to your advantage. Get backlinks, allow trackbacks, monitor and be present in your blog's comments. Be a regular poster; don't let days or weeks go by without posting and expect to create a following.
Utilize Web 2.0 sites and microblogs such as Twitter and Facebook to help popularize your blog. Get involved with other bloggers.
Plan how you're going to make money with your blog before it happens. Are you simply going to have ads on your site, like Google AdSense? Will you market affiliate products? Your own products? Don't overlook the possibility if your blog becomes highly trafficked that the blog itself becomes valuable virtual real estate, and you can sell ad space directly on your blog for a lot more money than the other monetizing methods. It's something to think about.
Lastly, while making money with a blog sounds like a cool way to come up with some extra cash, be aware that the best of these blogs are first and foremost works of passion, endowed by their owners with loads of great info for their visitors. Most didn't start with the idea of making a living with their blog, but to create a marvelously useful site that others in their niche could look up to. Something else to think about!
Utilizing Marketing Research to Help Brand Your Business
Marketing research is a vital component if your aim is to brand your business, particularly online. With the barriers to entry nearly eliminated as far as new businesses launching, it is more important than ever before to make sure that there is a solid, well thought out plan of action going forward. This means that necessarily there will have to market research in place prior to any major marketing initiatives taking place. Let's look at some of the things you'll want to bear in mind as you ramp up your marketing research.
Whether you chose to do this work in-house with staff, outsource it to a third-party marketing company, or do it yourself, there are some basic things you'll want this to accomplish. You need to make sure that the information you gather covers not only the current business climate for your particular market, but also your competitors, overall economic conditions at the time of compiling, demographics, brands, trends, market saturation and possible opportunities. That is a short list; there are many more, and you should be able to come up with a few specific ones that apply to your business.
Some of the specific types of market research that are common and could be useful to any business can include:
• Ad Research -- This involves looking into performance of ads already in the market, and their effectiveness and ultimate profitability.
• Brand Research -- Which brands are favored, and how much and why not? How do consumers view the brands?
• Eye Tracking -- What are the items that customers gravitate toward? What catches their eye? What colors, types of ads, language and customer behavior (on a website, as observed by click behavior) are leading them to a sale or an exit?
• Trend Research -- Looks at the “cool” factor, what's hot and what's not, cultural shifts and current fashions in popular culture, including music, movies and technology.
• Copy Testing -- What impact does the ad or sales copy have on its intended consumer? Does it gold their attention, direct their steps and have an emotional payoff?
• Web Buzz Research -- Collects and analyzes what people are saying about the products or companies in chat rooms, forums, blogs and social networking sites.
• Customer Satisfaction Research -- Gauging the overall satisfaction of a purchase or service.
• Demand Research -- Determines the demand for a particular product or service before it is launched.
• Marketing Effectiveness Research -- Compares the results of different and specific marketing techniques.
• Price Testing -- Looking at various pricing models to determine what the market will bear.
• Viral Marketing Research -- Looks into the viability of social media marketing and social networking campaigns, and marketability of each.
There are far more ways to implement and use marketing research in your business, but the key here is to use the information you acquire to help make sound, informed decisions.
Is Social Bookmarking Software Worth The Time and Expense?
Since the advent of social bookmarking and the very next breath when savvy marketers saw just how much this type if easy linking and social networking traffic could be worth to them, it wasn't very long until automated software solutions showed up on the scene to either make your life either easier in this regard, or to aid you in spamming the social bookmarking sites with loads of useless links designed to help boost your search engine rankings. As always, the truth and usefulness of the applications lie somewhere in the middle. Let's take a look.
At its core, the concept of social bookmarking is a terrific idea. Organize and catalog your favorite links to make it easy to return to them upon demand. Even the first social bookmarking sites were very useful in this purpose. And it can still be so.
However if your aim is to use social bookmarking to increase your site's reach and notice, then you need to know how social bookmarks have evolved, and how you can effectively use either social bookmarking software, or a social bookmarking service to your best advantage.
Since spammers have exploited the ways in which we submit and link bookmarks, it's little wonder that the social sites themselves have begun policing submissions more carefully, and are getting very good at detecting and weeding out automated solutions. That said, you can still use this type of submission software, if used prudently and as close to natural as possible. There are several good applications out there, from SocialBot, to BookmarkingDemon and others. The key to using these so that you not only not get booted from the social networks themselves, but also garner some backlinks is to avoid submitting hundreds or thousands of links per day. Think about it: could you do this manually? No. And they know this!
The best practice for this kind of link building is to acquire a moderate amount of links a day. If your site already has thousands of visitors a day, then it would make sense to have more than a few bookmarks daily. However, when you're first starting out, several hundred a day is a big red flag. Also, make sure you use sensible anchor when possible, and use different, original descriptions whenever you are allowed.
If you decide to use software, make sure you are dripping your social bookmarks over time. Some even encourage you to do this. Perhaps the best way to come up with a meaningful social bookmarking program is to outsource it as soon as your budget allows it. This will ensure that you get a quality result without having to spend endless hours at the computer yourself.
Social bookmarking can be a great way to get some easy backlinks, and the possibility exists that you could get a boost in traffic as well, particularly if your post or page goes viral. Social bookmarking can help you achieve that. Just remember to take it slow and natural!
How to Begin Blogging for Profit
If you have decided that you'd like to begin using your blog to make a little or a lot of extra cash, you should know that there are a lot of different scenarios when it comes to blogging for profit, and it's important to understand just what it is you're trying to accomplish, and the best ways to go about this. This only requires a little forethought and planning to get you on the right track toward blog profitability! Let's take a look at some of the things you'll want to consider.
The first thing to look at is to determine the basic way you intend to monetize your blogging efforts. There are a few choices here. You could go the easy way, and opt for a program like Google Adsense, which displays ads on your blog that your visitors click on, and you are compensated for each click, anywhere from a few pennies to a few dollars, depending on the popularity of the term being advertised. The pros of this type of monetization are that it is very easy to set up, and you don't have to do anything else. The cons would be that it's not that easy to make a good amount of money from Adsense without scaling it up significantly, and it's not what you would call consistent.
You could also sell something from your blog, either your product or one you have acquired the rights to sell (resell rights), and put banners or text ads extolling the virtues of these products. You can also start building a mailing list of visitors and customers that you can use for future promotion, something that is difficult to do when you are using other methods of monetization. The advantage of this type of model is that you can make a great deal more money, as you get to keep all of it.
A middle ground between these two would be affiliate marketing. This is where you attempt to sell or pre-sell products from your blog that you are an affiliate of, through the use of banners, text links or other ads, in order to garner a commission when the visitor clicks through your link to the affiliate vendor's site and makes a purchase. You then receive the commission, which can range anywhere from 1-75%, depending on the product. Digital products that can be downloaded offer the highest payouts, whereas physical products that require shipping and handling are perhaps the most likely the least profitable for you.
If you think you'd like to use your blog to make a bit of extra cash, then make sure to blog frequently and use other methods of search engine optimization to help keep your blog growing and increasingly popular in your chosen niche or market. Slapping a blog up into the blogosphere with a bevy of ads and little content and then never touching it again is a sure recipe for failure. Don't let that happen to your blog!
How's Your Online Reputation and Why You Should Care
Many business owners, particularly in the internet space have thought little about their online reputation and how it can affect their business fortunes both good and bad. This is understandable on several fronts, as business people are pressed for time, and something as seemingly ethereal as reputation management appears to be a big time consumer. Also, this may be an uncomfortable place for many to go, as there may well be areas they don't want to look at, much less confront. However, in the interest of brand marketing and your ultimate success or failure, you need to take at look at how you and your business are perceived.
Part of the reason that web businesses in particular are prone to shortcoming in this area is that it's very easy to retreat behind your personal firewall and become very insular with respect to the rest of the world. An example you may have already come across in your online journey would be when you attempt to contact someone whom you are either doing business with or are interested in working with. Many times you get no response at all, or sometimes a belated reply from a support person who obviously is in no position to help or get you closer to what you're seeking. This is a large turnoff.
In the old world of face to face marketing, there was no question about how you needed to proceed in this area: you either developed a good reputation with your clients and customers, or you didn't, and probably lost them soon thereafter. Today people are more accustomed to the anonymity of the Web, but there is a definite perceivable shift going on. Since social networking has taken over many of the functions that internet search used to, people are talking more to one another about their experiences with ABC Donuts, and just why you should or shouldn't eat them. With the speed at which word travels on the Web, you can be sunk before the next batch gets out of the fryer!
Here are some of the ways you can help your online reputation to flourish are very easy to accomplish, won't cost anything but a little time, and can help separate you from the unfortunate owner of ABC Donuts.
• Make sure you have a presence on major social networking sites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace and keep your followers abreast of what's going on with you.
• Use your real name when you put anything up on the Web. Also include a picture. People need to know you're real, not an outsourced creation of a slick marketer's mind.
• Publish articles or guest blog on major blogs in your market. This is a great way to help with reputation management.
• Make videos or podcasts. This is one of the best ways to keep in touch, gain new subscribers, and in general help keep your reputation positive.
These are but a few ways, but far and away the most important point is to give your online reputation some careful thought, so it won't surprise you one day!
Using Website Marketing To Increase Sales and Customer Reten...
If you haven't up to this point used website marketing to enhance your company's sales and customer relations, then the good news is that entire new vistas of opportunity are about to open up for you and your business, bringing you new customers and sales you had not yet imagined.
People often think that the Web is only for trying to reach a worldwide audience, and in fact, it does a great job of doing that. However many people have not discovered how to use their site to do online marketing to their specific, even local market. In the old days, if you wanted people in your area to know of your services, you'd put up a billboard, take an ad in the paper or yellow pages, or get on local radio.
Today, with advertising budgets slashed and the opportunities for low or no-cost online advertising that targets your local area, many businesses are starting to jump online and take the plunge. Even people with little to no technical ability are realizing that there is money being left on the table by not utilizing online marketing, and are either learning or hiring help to help get them up to speed.
There are so many ways in which your website can help your business that it's difficult to list them all. First of all, it gives your company an online persona that is open and available for you twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year. This is a relief to some of your customers who can at least go on the site, perhaps find answers to their questions, or at worst get in contact with you through your automated systems.
You can use your site to collect leads, create a mailing list, sell products online, provide help and support, interact with your visitors and customers, and also to develop you and your business into an authority in your market and niche, and take further concrete steps toward being the place people go when they have a need in your area of expertise.
Make sure that your site is a pleasant place, inviting and useful and above all informative. You know yourself that when you find a site you like crammed with many things you find useful, you end up bookmarking it for future use for yourself. Strive to be that site in your market. Give people what they need, and then some. Interact with your visitors as much as is practical. Put a real, live face on your business. You would do this offline; don't neglect to do it online!
Don't just slap up a website and presume you are done. Learn how to use website marketing as a tool in your arsenal to help to drive more sales, and acquire and retain more customers. If you do a small portion of what has been mentioned in this article you'll be miles ahead of your competitors. Would you rather they beat you to the punch here? I thought not!
What Is Your Blog Marketing Strategy?
Do I need one? You may well ask. Yes, you do. Having sensible and cohesive blogs marketing strategy is a good first step in getting your blog more well-known, as well as simply generating more traffic to your blog, for whatever purposes you may have there. Lacking this element of human eyeballs coming around on a regular basis, your blog is little more than an exercise in writing notes to yourself. I don't suspect that's why you started your blog, so let's take a look at what goes into crafting sound and workable blog marketing strategies.
First you need to decide what you're up to. Are you using your blog to market products online? Are you trying to become an authority in your chosen niche or market? Do you want to generate leads for other sites or products you may own or be promoting? Would you like to build your own list? Whatever the reason, you need to know precisely what it is, so you have a shot at achieving it.
Here are some of the better blog marketing tips I've come across. They apply in most situations, and can help you garner some of the popularity you are seeking.
• Write great content. This may seem an obvious one, but the more terrific blog posts you write, the more often people will comment, link to, and Tweet about your posts. This is a good thing, and not merely linkbait!
• Tweet your own posts. If you have a decent amount of followers, let t hem know you've written something worth taking a look at.
• Same with blog comments and forum postings. If you've come up with content they'll be interested in, by all means don't be shy about letting people know about it, particularly if you are a member in good repute on that forum, or a commenter known to make useful contributions.
• Keep your blog's SEO in mind. Target useful and reachable keywords that will help your blog be found in the search engines. Use tags with some thought, and garner backlinks wherever and however you can.
• With the above point in mind, don't make the mistake of writing for the search engines. Write only for your audience; that is the first and foremost principle. I read somewhere the other day where someone said that most blog posts these days “smell like linkbait”. Don't cross the line. If you write well, it will rank anyway!
• Write guest posts on other blogs. People are always looking for a day off here and there, and this can be an easy way to get more readership and create new friends.
• Use the marketing tools at your disposal. Submit your blog to relevant engines and directories. Make sure your RSS feed is being promoted. Ping your posts. Make it easy to social bookmark your posts.
Using just a few of these will leapfrog you ahead of most bloggers who do none of it. This is your baby. Take good care of it!
How Marketing Locally Can Jumpstart Your Businesses
If you're a local business owner looking for ways to realize more profits in today's challenging business environment, then we have good news for you today. The business you are seeking may be right around the corner, literally! Utilizing local marketing online is a terrific way to garner new customers who may be already looking for you online. Marketing locally online can be a great way to find new customers, at very little or no cost.
Studies are showing that people search online first now, as opposed to the old way of picking up the telephone book to scour the yellow pages, or looking in the newspaper. Indeed, because of the costs of those types of advertising, most companies no longer consider them as an option. This is the major reason why newspapers and local yellow pages are dying across the country, as advertisers seeking to get the most for their advertising dollar look online and do the same thing better, only mostly for free!
This should be something you consider as well. If more than half of the people looking for local services are doing it online, that's where you need to be. This figure is doubling every year at the moment.
Creating an online presence for your business is as simple as putting up a web page, but that's not where it ends. There are some things you can do to make sure that your business is among the first ones found when one of your neighbors search for a business like yours. Optimizing your website for the specific keywords you'd like to be found for is the first step. If you have a local plumbing business in Tulsa, one of the words that your potential customers may be searching for is "Tulsa plumber", or "unclog my pipes Tulsa". Think like your customers when figuring this out and you'll strike gold.
Also available are tools like Google Maps, which can, in certain markets, put your business on the first page of a search for your local service. You can also use some highly targeted local pay per click advertising. This means that you use a program like Google Adwords that serves up ads next to the search results. You bid on ad positions, and when a searcher clicks on your ad, you pay a certain amount. This can be an almost instant way to drive traffic to your website, and if you highly targeted keywords, can be done at minimal cost as well.
Getting your site listed on any local directories, Chamber of Commerce webpages, and local online newspapers is a great way to get noticed. Beyond that continuing to build your local online presence by targeting more keywords, putting more and useful content on your website, and in general talking it up will get more local business than you thought possible. Get your business online today!
How To Provide Local Online Marketing Services In Your Area
If you are a search engine marketing professional, one of the most untapped markets for new business would be local marketing. Much of Main Street America is not on the internet as yet, especially many brick and mortar businesses that started up 10-15 years ago. It just wasn't an option, and no one has since taken the time to get them into the 21st century so far. This is where you come in.
Most of this business is as close as around the corner. Places where you shop, merchants who you may already have a great relationship with could be dying for your services. In today's world of shrinking profit margins and recessionary budgeting, traditional modes of advertising are for many businesses out of the question. Large budgets devoted to advertising both in print and in other media have taken a hit, and these business owners are scrambling to try and find ways to not only replace lost business, but generate new.
The internet offers that in spades. With low cost methods of advertising, positioning these businesses in the search engines with local online marketing, many offline businesses could realize a huge shot in the arm simply by utilizing the services of someone skilled in these areas.
Some of the services that you may be able to provide for these business owners might include things like securing a good domain name, web hosting, constructing and maintaining a website or blog (or both) search engine optimization, local search marketing through both SEO and pay per click advertising, content creation, social media marketing, consulting, web promotion and much more. Remember, most of the owners don't have any sort of background in this type of business at all, and you will be able to position yourself in a manner where you will be practically indispensable.
Joe the painter may well be an artist in his own right, with dozens of years experience and know-how at his disposal, but ask him to set up an opt-in form on his web page and you'll draw blank stares. Most business owners, especially these days, have very little time or patience to learn a whole new skill-set; that's why they'll gladly hire and pay you handsomely to take care of it for them.
Your arrangement can be piece work, a consulting gig, or maybe even a staff position. It's very much up to you how to structure your work here. Work to your strengths, and make sure that you don't promise something you can't deliver. If you are unable to do a particular task yourself, outsource it if possible to someone else who can. This benefits all concerned as long as the outsourcer does good work.
Providing local online marketing services to businesses in your area and can be an easy and very lucrative way to pump up your income. You would do well to take some time and figure out how best to take advantage of your skills and help some of the people you may already have relationship with!
Why Link Building Is Vital To Your Site's Success
If you've ever built a website and wondered why your new creation is nowhere to be found within the search engines, you have experienced what the lack of a link building strategy will do to your online fortunes. Like it or not, the Web is a link popularity contest, with many variables. You are competing with other sites to garner top positions based on how many other sites feel yours is a worthwhile stop. That's the tough news. The good news is that is isn't rocket science to institute a link building campaign and move your site up in the search results, but it does take some work. (What doesn't?)
The first step is deciding how you're going to do this. There are many, many ways to garner incoming links to your site. What you need to do is focus on the long term consequences of the method of building links that you choose. If you take the low road, and choose to use spammy techniques to get thousands of quick backlinks into your site, you should know that those results won't last, and you'll end up in the same place you were when you started, only with your site's reputation damaged.
Better to focus on legitimate, long-lasting strategies that will build your numbers over time, and allow your rankings to steadily grow as well. A good link strategy involves not only incoming links, their Page rank, relevance and keyword rich anchor text and amount, but also outgoing links to sites in our niche and market with authority, and proper internal linking on your own site.
There are more ways than ever before to acquire good, solid incoming links to your sites now. The advent of Web 2.0 sites, social bookmarking and networking sites, and the amazing number or directories available to put a link to your site leaves you wondering just where to start. It doesn't matter; just dive in!
Of course, consider the reputation, page rank and traffic rank of sites as you place links there. Google values authority sites over others, and you should have a variety of different incoming page rank links from all over the Web. Don't make the mistake of getting "site-wide" links to your site. Google will discount nearly all of them, and count only one. Also, be very careful about buying text link ads. Google is out to purge those.
The best free links are those in your market or niche, and with anchor text links of keywords that you want your web page to rank for. Be sure to change this up a bit too. Google considers a normal link profile to include your site's URL, but several different keywords, as well as the occasional "click here". If your site links anchor text is 5284 links containing the keyword "forex" and no others, you will have raised the red flag on yourself.
Take the time to build (or outsource!) a safe and sane link building campaign. You'll be rewarded for years to come!
Letting Go of Beliefs That Inhibit Success
When you’re struggling in business, it’s easy to see yourself wrapped in chains, struggling to break free from failure. What if I told you the key to those chains might be located within your own mind? If you’re ready to step out into freedom, let’s look at how your beliefs might be inhibiting the success you crave.
Inhibiting Belief Number One: Nice People Don’t Do Sales
Whether your product is coaching or castor oil, you’re going to have to sell it to someone else to be successful. For many entrepreneurs, the commitment to success ends when it comes time to actually market their products. They’re great at visualizing, designing and creating products, but they’d really rather not have to ask someone to buy them.
The underlying belief keeping them from success may be that “Nice People Don’t Do Sales.” Before you discount that entirely, consider the stereotypes you’ve heard about used car or door-to-door salesmen. Society, in general, has embraced the notion that selling is somehow unsavory.
Here’s the truth that will unlock your chains: Some of the nicest people you know are in sales! They’re the business owners who find the people best served by their products and make them available at a reasonable price. They’re the gifted folks who’ve developed ways of helping others succeed and are reaching out to a grateful audience in return for a fee.
Learning to market your products effectively makes you a savvy business owner, period. Free yourself from the notion that offering quality products for a reasonable price is anything other than good business.
Inhibiting Belief Number Two: Asking for Money is Rude
In a fantasy world, we could have anything we’d like without having to pay for it. In the real world, we expect to pay for the things we need and want. The products you’ve worked so hard to create are no different. Reasonable people expect you to ask for money when you deliver the goods.
Here’s probably what’s at the root of your anxiety, if you somehow feel rude when quoting a price—someone along the way, a parent, perhaps, told you it was rude to talk about money.
Let’s separate the wheat from the chaff…bragging about how much money you make at a dinner party may be rude, but quoting a price to a customer to complete a transaction is what’s at the core of every business.
Inhibiting Belief Number Three: Entrepreneurs Don’t Have “Real” Jobs
Here’s one that’s pervasive in Western cultures. From the time they start school, youngsters are guided toward “real” jobs like being accountants, doctors or attorneys. The problem is that many people feel a pull to own a business and serve the public some other way.
Striking out in the world of entrepreneurship can be lonely if friends and family keep asking when you’re going to find a “real job.” If you’re struggling to become successful marketing your products or services, you may have doubts that what you’re doing is legitimate.
Here’s a reality check: if you’ve created quality products and are offering them in ethical ways to serve the needs of others, you have a “real” job! You’re part of what keeps economies growing. As a business owner and entrepreneur, you’re in great company with others who are willing to take big risks for big payoffs.
If you begin to doubt yourself, and thereby sabotage your own success, consider the contribution pioneers in technology and industry have made. I’m willing to bet someone, somewhere along the way, told each of them to “get a real job” instead of working past obstacles and creating their own success.
Marketing and sales are what keeps the business world turning. Nice people all around you ask other people for money in return for great products. And being an entrepreneur is as real as it gets in the world of business. Free yourself from the self-sabotaging beliefs that can keep you from enjoying success. Stop apologizing and start enjoying the benefits of being the best at what you do.
Ten Steps To A Killer Marketing Plan
Planning your marketing strategy can sometimes feel overwhelming. But the truth is, it is one of the most important steps you need to take in order to achieve success! There are so many options, so many opinions and so many decisions to make. How do you know which will work for you?
As a member of several mastermind groups, I’m often privy to insider information regarding the conversion levels people are achieving and the amount of revenue that is being made in the marketplace. Through my own personal experience, and the experiences of others, I’ve been able to witness how some business soar whilst others are not achieving the growth they could be.
This week, I wanted to share with you 10 tried-and-true tips that I see in every successful marketing plan. Incorporating these steps in your marketing plan
will help you to transform your marketing and reach more customers.
1. Analyze the marketing methods of people that are really soaring in their businesses. Where can you apply some of their techniques in your own business?
2. Make sure you’re aware of what your market really wants. Understanding what people are looking for on a logical level and emotional level is the foundation of successful marketing.
3. Understand that know-how itself isn’t enough. Simply knowing the right business model or the right techniques will not give you the edge. It takes more than just knowing what to do in your business to achieve extraordinary results.
4. Dig deeper. Don’t market “by the numbers” and just check off all the boxes as if you’re working a marketing “to do” list. Look beyond the surface to make a real connection with your audience. Find what it is that makes you and your business unique, and make that a focus of your marketing strategy.
5. Emotionally engage your audience. Figure out what it is that will keep their interest and keep them coming back for more. A newsletter with an ongoing story, a must-read tip-of-the-day, an answer to the previous day’s question. Find something that will make your audience unable to resist tuning in to see what you are up to.
6. Personal revelation. Allow your customers to get to know who you are, why you are doing what you’re doing. This is one of the most effective ways to emotionally engage an audience.
7. Create likeability in your marketing. Tell the truth, be an expert, and reveal things about yourself, even including weaknesses or things that you had problems with in the past. That can really add to your marketing
8. Do something simple, like add a photo to your profile.
9. Uncover your story. What’s the element of your story? What’s your background and your reason for being in business? What’s going to draw people in and engage them?
10. Don’t be afraid to polarize your audience. As you really make it your job to emotionally engage people, there will be some who aren’t going to like you and others that will love you. That’s just a fact in both business and personal life.
Take the time to focus on these ten steps, because they will help you to develop a killer marketing plan. When you really focus on these things, and commit to using them, your business will flourish.
Social Media – Distraction or Smart Strategy?
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube
Does your new business really need a presence there? That question may make you cringe, if you’re afraid of falling behind when it comes to social media. Step back and relax; you may be experiencing “social networking envy” unnecessarily. While social media sites can be marvelous marketing tools, there’s more work to be done first to build the business of your dreams.
Distraction or Smart Strategy?
Spending a lot of time on Facebook lately? Used correctly, social media sites like Facebook and Twitter can be powerful tools for marketing. Many online entrepreneurs are mining real gold from social networking. But those same social networking sites can be a huge distraction if you’re not careful. The key is in finding the proper balance.
Those “tweets”, Facebook status updates and LinkedIn requests, if not part of a deliberate marketing strategy, are just one more thing that pulls you away from the groundwork that supports a successful business.
What Is Your Strategy?
Before you devote a lot of time to creating a social media presence, you must first focus your efforts on building a solid business strategy. Spend the time necessary to create your unique business proposition. Why should someone want to do business with you, specifically?
Being able to hone your offer down to two or three sentences can have tremendous impact on your marketing success. As a new business owner, the time you spend clarifying what you’re offering and why it’s unique will be the foundation of all future marketing.
Once you’ve created your most succinct offer, begin to strategize how you’ll find customers. Lending your focus to tasks like these will result in long-term success. It’s possible you’ll incorporate social networking somewhere along the way, but a well-rounded marketing plan that includes many ways to attract customers is smart business.
Creating a comprehensive business strategy is your best possible use of time. By all means, stay abreast of current marketing trends, but focus first on building a sturdy foundation for that marketing. Spend less time worrying about what everyone else is doing and more time investing the hard work all successful business owners do when growing a business.
Make a Plan
There are several things you can do to keep social media and other “shiny objects” from sabotaging your success:
• Set a deadline for developing your offer and marketing strategy.
• Never work without a schedule to keep yourself on track.
• Set short-term goals for implementing new marketing ideas.
• Set aside time each day to review your progress.
• Plan a set time each day to work with social media as part of your overall marketing strategy.
Social networking sites are a wonderful way to stay connected to potential clients near and far. They are also, unfortunately, a major distraction for new business owners working without a plan. The temptation to dive into social media marketing prematurely can be avoided by recognizing its role in your overall marketing plan.
Make the decision to focus your time on developing your unique business proposition. Set goals and monitor your progress regularly. Implement new marketing ideas, which may include a presence in social networking, once you’ve clarified your unique business proposition. In that way, you’ll develop a genuine business network that will sustain your company long-term.
More Leads, More Clients, More Sales
So much to do, so little time – and not enough to show for all your hard work. If that’s become your mantra, if you just don’t know where to start, let me give you a checklist of things to focus on that will save you time and grow your business.
Basically, there are three things, and only three things, that will allow you to double, triple, even quadruple your income – more leads, more clients, and more sales. Follow these tips for ways to achieve them, and watch your business grow.
1. Analyze your business. Determine what it will take to bring in more revenue, whether it’s getting more clients, or getting your existing clients to spend more money.
2. Develop a SYSTEM (Save Your Self Time, Energy and Money). If generating leads only happens when you attend a networking event or place an ad - if it’s something you have to think about or make time to do - it’s not a system. A good system will make lead generation automatic, will let you go on holiday and come back to find more leads than before you left. Examine each aspect of your business to see what is working for you and what isn’t. And if something isn’t, then drop it and focus on something else.
3. Take yourself out of the equation. Are sales totally dependent on your involvement in generating them? If you must constantly promote your business in order to attract clients, you need to find a way to make sales that isn’t dependent on you alone.
4. Expand your lead sources by increasing your visibility in the marketplace. Explore social media, like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Consider a new magazine or publication for advertising. Think about doing something more with articles, or starting a blog.
5. Develop a strong conversion process. All the leads in the world won’t increase your income if you can’t convert them into paying customers.
6. Don’t restrict how much a customer can spend. The amount of business that customers can do with you is limited by your highest priced product, service or program. You need to raise the amount that people can spend with you, giving them more opportunities to give you money. Look at your highest priced product or service and see how you can take it to a new level. Create a new high-end product that your existing customers will pay for, and that will attract more new leads to your business.
7. Encourage customers to increase their spending by creating an up-sell. Find connections between your products or services or programs, and when a customer wants to buy item A, automatically suggest supplementing the order with item B. Typically 35% of customers are more than willing to take your suggestion to spend more money.
8. Make customers feel special. Develop continuity streams of income by creating membership programs and continuity programs, where people pay a monthly fee for your service or your product. Offer ongoing support by way of refreshers and top-ups for a regular fee.
9. Track and test. Analyzing and evaluating where you focus your time, energy and money is a sure way of knowing whether your methods are productive. Track and measure the value of your lead sources and the effectiveness of your conversion process in generating revenue. Assess your website for qualified traffic, readily accessible information, and sale completion. These statistics will prove how well your site is working for you.
Applying these steps to your business will help you to focus on attracting more leads, converting them into paying customers, and generating more sales. This is the surest way to increase your bottom line and watch your income grow.
Can You Be Helped?
I know this seems like a really silly question... but do you believe help is possible?
Idiotic as the question may appear, it will instantly reveal the degree to which most tax professionals and CPA's have been disappointed in reaching their objectives in acquiring new clients.
Obviously, anyone who DOES anything or TRIES to achieve something will face failure to SOME degree. It's not possible to succeed with every marketing plan or idea the first time you try to implement it.
Experience needs to be attained from some new project so that things can be debugged and adjusted until every step of the way works sufficiently to produce the desired results.
Disappointment and failure in achieving the desired results poison our belief that this goal is ACHIEVABLE or at all POSSIBLE. The human reaction to failure is to become cynical about the subject in which one hasn't succeeded.
The more cynical we become, the less we believe that anyone or anything COULD help us to achieve "the impossible." And this in turn makes us suspect any offer of help. If "help isn't possible" then anyone offering it must be trying to hoodwink or bamboozle us, right?
True enough, the only person on whose help you can fully rely on is YOU. And yet, disappointments will keep you from opening that same can of worms again UNLESS you realize something important about the anatomy of failure:
There is no such thing as COMPLETE failure. The average failure is made out of MORE than 50% of success but still contains too much unworkable to produce the desired result.
If you tried to acquire new accounting or tax clients but didn't, you can BET that you did a LOT of things absolutely right...and only just a few too many not right "enough" to produce the desired result.
It's just not possible to do anything ABSOLUTELY WRONG.
Equally, acquiring some new clients does NOT require that you do everything absolutely RIGHT, either. You only need to do MORE things right than not to succeed in obtaining a new client!
You don't have LONG TO GO from apparent "total failure" to a total success. It's NOT far at all. It's only because our mind refuses to fail again that it CLOSES the door to it being possible to succeed in the subject.
Knowledge is the key to success. Why? Well, if you KNOW what business owners want, feel, think, like, dislike, fear, and so on... and if you have full certainty on how to make them SEE the benefits of your service...
Then you KNOW how to succeed.
You CAN help yourself by helping yourself to the knowledge and certainty. That's all -- just acquire the knowledge.
No one asks you to DO anything. That'll come once you have the knowledge. Before doing (and even before PLANNING) anything you need to acquire the knowledge and certainty on the underlying causes in the subject.

Do You Know How to Get Referrals?
We have heard from our clients in the accounting industry that referrals make the best clients. Typically a good referral is almost "sold" on you or your firm before you even meet them face to face. They know about you from a client or friend and they have a very good impression of you and what you can offer. Our clients have also told us they close 75% or more of their referrals, they just need more of them. Here are 5 ways to get more referrals.
1. Be Consistent
Your level of service cannot falter. You have to be very good every time. If you are, then you are going to get some referrals. There are clients you have that enjoy telling about the great service they get or how smart their decision was to use a certain person for something they needed. You know the type don't you? Look through your client list and pick them out. Then give them a call and ask them for some referrals. Even if they can't think of one off the top of their head, you will have planted an important seed.
2. Always Be Prospecting
How many people did you talk to yesterday? How many last week? Now then, how many did you ask for a referral? You represent a value to your clients. Ask them if they know someone who might need your help.
3. Use Niche Marketing
You can't be all things to all people and your marketing efforts will suffer if you try to do so. Find some things (you can have more than one niche) you like to do or target a type of client that you like to work with. This will make it easier to create a reputation and build value in what you do.
4. Refer Yourself
When I tell people this I usually get a look as though I have two heads. Some of our clients can't even form a sentence once they hear this one. They usually say "What?" or "Huh?" and occasionally they can get out a sentence such as "How do you do that?" One way is to get published. If you have a newsletter, write an article about something. Using the Internet to get published or producing a newsletter is a lot like referring yourself. You said it/wrote it/told it but it is in story form so you "look" like an expert. Don't have time you say?
5. Network Strategically
As you are networking, work referrals from your business associates. These people may never become clients but will still refer you. This can be at a chamber function, BNI or on the Internet on LinkedIn or Twitter.
6. Incentivize
It is important to make the act of referring the easiest possible. I follow the principle of "KISS" (Keep It Simple Silly). However, an incentive to the client to refer a friend either in the form of cash or gift is the quickest way to quicken the process.

Two Types Of Marketing For Tax Professionals
One could divide the marketing of accounting services into two categories based on the ratio in which they can bring direct results.
Some marketing actions are of such nature that they simply cannot BRING direct results. Most are such that they're very UNLIKELY to bring direct results and, if they do, results will almost never justify the investment.
There are some media that usually offer little response, such as newspaper ads. It's a bit of a hit and miss proposition because of the short life cycle of a daily newspaper.
These media impose an unfavorable cost-content ratio; the price is too high for any meaningful message to be included.
It all comes back to the old question: WHY would someone change their CPA or Accountant?
Unless you can PROVIDE A REASON for changing, the only other possibility is that you find those business owners who, at this very moment, are intensely dissatisfied with their service provider BUT haven't yet changed over to another.
Thus, the problem of simply offering Accounting services with a nice slogan is that it needs to reach the right person at a right time.
The second category of marketing actions goes around the problem. As it is practically impossible (and VERY costly) to find the right person at the right time, why not create an approach that INDUCES the changeover process instead?
Why not go with a message that clearly DIFFERENTIATES your firm from any other, offering the (thinking) business owner exactly what he WANTS (but isn't receiving) from his Accounting services?
Now, with this, I definitely don't mean that you should badmouth your competitors. You can't do that - but you CAN inform your target audience about your services.
I'm talking about a message that starts business owners THINKING about their needs and wishes in terms of accounting services; what they would ask for if they believed it was possible to obtain from their CPA or Accountant.
You have to reach the business owner BEFORE he becomes actively displeased with his current service provider. Help him define what he needs from accounting services by expanding his awareness on what CAN be achieved with your services.
Of those that recognize the benefits, more than half will sign onto YOUR services.
Today, there are many theories about marketing, involving subjects like "creating a brand" or "making your firm well known" and so on.
The downside is an expensive one. Seldom producing ANY results.
Few of us have the financial resources to keep up such image-building campaigns.
If you don't have the money - or aren't willing to invest that much into it - then you have to make every marketing action COUNT.
And that's done by concentrating solely on actions that have a realistic chance of actually producing new clients. Call it sales, marketing or PR - I don't care
as long as it is planned so that it CAN BRING CLIENTS.
You have to offer something that's not available from other Accounting firms. It needn't be a totally NEW service, only something others aren't including with their BASIC service.

Marketing Accounting Services On Internet
Internet Is Different From Any Other Media On Earth In Many Aspects - But In Particular When It Comes To Marketing And Advertising.
The Reason People Invest In Equipment And A Broadband Connection Is To Access A Gigantic Source Of Free Information.
They Don'T Pay In Order To View Advertising Or Sales Messages... Or Really Any Kind Of "Commercial Message Or Presentation."
Thus The Most Usual Mistake A CPA Firm Makes Is To Assume That Internet Works The Same Way As Any Other Medium In Terms Of Marketing And Presentation.
Off Line Media Works That Way.
Internet Doesn't.
This Is The Primary Reason Why The Presentation Of Your Accounting Firm And Its Services Online Brings No Results. If It Is A Traditional Presentation Then Chances Are That There Won't Be Any Contacts Resulting From Your Online Presence.
Of Course, Unless You're Web Pages Have Been Optimized For The Most Popular (And Accurate) Search Terms, And Unless You Have An Active Program Exchanging Links With Related Sites, It Is Not Likely That You'Ll Receive Many Visitors As No One Will Find Your Web Site From Among The Perhaps 100 Million Commercial Web Sites On The Internet.
The Solution To Online Marketing Starts With The General Goal Of People That Browse The Internet.
Why Do People Pay Good Money To Get Connected To The Internet?
To View Advertising?
Definitely Not.
People Pay For Free Information!
Internet Is Like A Giant Encyclopedia Owned Jointly By Everyone Browsing The Net. Whatever You Want To Find Out About, You Can Find Online.
He Is Looking For An Information Source Which He Can Trust.
CPA Internet Marketing: To Achieve Anything With Your Visitor, You Must First Give Free Information
Lots Of It. That's The Only Way To Open A Line Of Communication With Someone Whom You Do Not Know And Cannot Talk To. Your Web Site Content Must Do The Talking.
I'm Talking About A Prospecting Web Site.
See, To Have Any Realistic Chance Of Marketing Accounting Services On Internet, You Need To Straight Off. Immediately. It Does Not Matter What You Say On Your Web Page Since The Average Visitor (Who'S Not Your Client Or Associate) Won't Ever Get That Far.
He'll Exact The "Browser's Revenge" - Click The "Back" Button... And He's Off.
If Visitors See That Your Site Is Clearly Just Selling A Service, They Will Simply Go Away And Do So Within 2-5 Seconds.
You Could Create A Web Site That Achieves Results.
A Site That Offers Lots Of Interesting Content Of The Kind The Average Business Owner Is Looking For.
But I Promise You'll Kick Yourself If You Try It Without Acquiring The Knowledge Of
-What Kind Of Web Site You Should Set Up To Attract New Clients
-How To Optimize It For Search Engines... And
-How To Market It On The Internet.
Internet Marketing Works And It Works Very Well, But Only If You Apply The Specific Methodology That'S Proven Successful.
First Of All, The Internet Has Long Since Surpassed Any Other Medium For Data Gathering. Every Office And Every Decision Maker Has A Connection. Every Home Has A Computer With Access To Internet.
Fact Number Two Is That You Can Market Your CPA Firm And Accounting Services On The Internet Successfully. I Know You Can Because I'Ve Done It Myself And So Have A Select Number Of My Clients.
Fact Number Three Is That Internet May Well Be "The Final Frontier" Today Because So Few In The Accounting Industry Know How To Utilize It For Client-Acquisition.
Only Approximately 4% Of CPA & Accounting Firms Actually Know How To Do It Effectively And Successfully. This Means That Whoever Understands The Potential In Your Area May Well Be The Only Firm Online Reaping The Benefits.
And Last But Not Least, Securing A Web Site Of This Kind With Lots Of Free And Interesting Content Will Also Give You An Advantage In All Other Forms Of Local Marketing, Merely Because You Can Direct Business Owners To Your Site In On The Phone, In Your Telemarketing, Direct Mailing Letters, Listings, Classifieds, Ads, Business Cards, Flyers And Whatever Other Media You Use To Promote Your CPA Firm.
So Give The Internet Some Thought... And Keep Up The Good Work!

Helping Accounting Clients And Marketing
In Today's Cutthroat World One Can Easily Become Blind To One's True Intention Of Helping Others.
But In Your Position, You Are Among The Elite, The Top One Percentile Of The Population When It Comes To Helping Others.
You Help Others Significantly And Importantly... And A Lot More Than Others Do. More Than Most People Help Others... And Usually A Lot More Than Those You Help Would Help You In Exchange.
Helping Others Is One Of Those Innate Purposes Of Life, Really. Some Believe We Exist For The Very Purpose Of Helping. Certainly Everyone Agrees That "Having Helped" Is One Of The Best Feelings Ever.
So, Why Is Help Such A Muddled And Often Upsetting Subject Then?
Well, I'M Not Sure I Have The Answer To That But Personally I've Noticed That It Can Be Soul Destroying To Anyone If His Help Is Not Accepted And Somewhat Appreciated Or If The Helpful Intention Is Not Even Seen For What It Is.
We'Ve All Had To Experience Being Looked As If We Are A Monster Because Our Intention To Help Was Misinterpreted For Something Else Altogether.
Also, People Easily Blame Those Who Help Them If Anything Goes Wrong.
And None Of Us Is Immune To Experiencing An Offer Of Help To Signify Something Negative... A Statement That We Need Help And Thus Are Somehow Unable To Solve Our Own Problems... And What Not.
Accounting Practice: Help Those Who Want To Be Helped
The Goal Of Helping Is Not Uniform In Its Strength From One Person To Another. Anyone Setting Up A Business Is Usually A Lot More Intent On Helping.
And So It Is Usually His Lot To Become Frustrated When He Sees That Someone Would Dearly Need His Help But, Try As He Might, He Cannot Get This Person To Realize It Or Accept Help.
This Then Can Lead To Quite A Lot Of Upsets.
It Is Dispiriting To See How Someone's Life Is Hampered By Some Problem And Yet Not Be Able To Convince That Person Of This Situation So They Would Allow You To Help Them Overcome It.
So, Is There Any Way To Alleviate This Frustrating State Of Affairs?
Yes There Is. The Solution Is Twofold.
Firstly, Acquire More Knowledge On Why People Resist Help In General And How You Can Overcome Most Of Those Barriers That Currently Act As Dead Ends For Your Attempts Of Helping Others.
And Believe You Me; This Is A Huge Step Which Can Greatly Change The Way You Think About Marketing Your Services And The Results Thereof.
Secondly, Once You Know Your Way Of Approaching People Is Optimized To Make Them Realize What You Want Them To Understand, Help Only Those Who Want To Be Helped.
Not Everyone Wants To Be Helped.
Oh, I Know That's One Of Those Things Nobody Admits... But It's True Nevertheless. Some People Cannot Overcome Their Distrust Of Help. Others Simply Cannot Ever Look Into Their Own Actions And Decisions, Thus Only Seeking For Someone Else To Blame For Every Possible Problem They Have In Their Business Activity.
And, Who Knows, There May Even Be A Few Who've Already Given Up Trying And "Help" For Them Means "Ending It All..."
You Cannot Help Everyone. And You Cannot Help A Person Before He Is Ready To Help Himself.
The Good News Is That Nine Out Of Ten People Can Be Helped, If You Know How To Approach Them.
Of These, The Majority May Need More Time To Come To The Realization... But At Least 10% Will Already Be At That Point Where Help Is Definitely Wanted, Provided You Present It Correctly.
Thank You For Your Tireless Work To Help Others.
It Is Greatly Appreciated Despite The Meager Acknowledgment... And Your Help Is Vitally Important To The Society Also.
Keep A Positive Mind And Want To Help.
It Is Guaranteed To Make You Feel Better About Life, Yourself And Your Business... And It Certainly Produces Better Results For Your Business!

Finding an Internet Marketing Audience
In an economy that is increasingly uncertain, Internet marketing is a great way to ensure that money is coming in no matter what the job situation is like. While few people can count on the economy outside the Internet, online business is booming. Internet marketing is a way to get involved in the online economy, making money from the things that people buy online, even if you aren't selling those things yourself.
One of the most useful things about making money on the Internet is that it's possible to market absolutely anything. It doesn't matter if you own the item or not, you can still market it and make money from the sale of it. Affiliate marketing is an increasingly popular way to help others to sell products and to collect a commission for them. This requires an understanding of how people find information online and what gets them to stay around and read that information.
Internet marketing is all about getting traffic, but it's not about just any traffic. It's about getting the right traffic--the traffic that will be interested in buying what you have to sell or whatever the affiliate products are. Getting traffic that will be interested in the topic and the products means targeting the demographics that will be most interested. To start, think about where the target audience spends its time and what it's interested in. Then, go to those places and make sure your message is visible there.
There are a lot of ways to make sure that the message is seen by the right people. To get an Internet marketing message out there, the message can be placed onto sites through advertising, through direct marketing to the people who visit the site or through third-party sites that will place the messages there. There are so many ways to do accomplish each of these marketing methods that it can be confusing to those who are new to marketing. That makes it important to make a specific marketing plan and to implement it regularly to keep the marketing message out there.
For those who have never marketed on the Internet before, there may be a learning curve as they figure out the marketing etiquette and what types of marketing will turn off an audience. Often, an extremely strong marketing message is ignored as a sales pitch. On the other hand, a weak message won't be remembered. In online marketing, there is a middle ground that appeals to many types of audiences. A message that is clear and direct is one that will be remembered. Delivering a strong message that is informational and sincere is the key to gaining the audience's attention. When this is done often enough and by using the right online resources, an Internet marketing message will be seen by the right people and will be utilized in a way that will make money for the marketer. And as long as that message is delivered properly, the money will continue to come in.

Finding Your Way Through Internet Marketing
Marketing in the brick-and-mortar world is a well-traveled path that many people know how to take, but Internet marketing is another matter entirely. Internet marketing is a constantly evolving type of marketing that changes every time the next big thing comes along. Social bookmarking, social networking and blogging have all changed the face of online marketing, and other trends may shape the face of Internet marketing in the future.
Internet marketing is far more versatile than the few simple marketing methods that are available to most people in the brick and mortar marketing world. In traditional marketing, there are a few methods that companies use to get their messages out there. TV advertising can be used on specific TV shows to get the marketing message to the right audience. Radio marketing can be done by placing ads on radio shows or having a product mentioned on a show as a sponsor. Newspaper and magazine ads carry a marketing message that should be memorable and different from the rest. But with Internet marketing, there are many, many more options.
When a person wants to market something on the Internet, it can be hard to keep up with all of the recent changes and to stay on top of the trends that have made other marketers successful with what they do. This makes it extremely important to find a marketer who knows what they are doing and to listen to what that person has to say about Internet marketing. This can save hundreds of hours of trial and error, as well as saving the money that could have been spent on advertising that didn't work.
A successful marketer, particularly one who has taught others how to market, will understand the basic principles of Internet marketing. These include how to keep on top of trends and how to make certain social aspects of Web 2.0 work for them. Without a guide, it can be extremely difficult to figure out which marketing trends can actually lead to a lucrative income and which ones aren't a good use of marketing time and money.
The time that many people spend on unproven marketing techniques is often wasted time that won't lead them to a good return. Many times, that wasted time is spent on chasing the wrong demographics that won't be interested in buying a certain type of product. For instance, it may be fun to get a marketing message to a hip young market, but for those selling timeshares, it isn't the right one for the product. By spending the time to plan out a specific Internet marketing plan and to find someone whose guidance will be helpful, a marketing plan can be successful online. It can find the right audience and it can deliver that marketing message in a way that will be memorable to its audience. Once the right message is sent out in the right way, an Internet marketing campaign has the potential for a long and successful run.

Make Money at Home to Replace Income
The uncertainty of job loss, downsizing and decreased hours has made it more important than ever to make money at home whenever possible. Many people have found that they are able to replace their lost income by taking on online work instead of pounding the pavement looking for a job in the offline world. This offers anyone with lost income a world of possibilities that greatly dwarf the offline world.
Online, there are more opportunities to make money at home because there is a thriving economy of people offering products and services, and people are increasingly coming to the Internet to buy them. That pumps a lot of money into the online economy, and that money is only growing. There is no end in sight to the growth of the Internet, and the amount that is being spent online has not been shrinking with the economic problems of the offline world. It's a place where money is plentiful and there are unlimited opportunities.
There are many families who are struggling to get by on one income, but determined to try to make it without taking on a second job. If one spouse can make money online, that can provide the income of a part time or full-time job without taking away significant amounts of time that were dedicated to the family. For couples with two incomes, the same can be done by working online. Instead of one spouse taking on a second job and spending less time at home, that spouse can make money at home and bring in enough to make life easier for everyone.
For those with children, the monetary needs never seem to end. Babies may be expensive, but kids who want toys and hobby items need an increasing amount of money, and it only gets more expensive. Teenagers need money for education, clothing and entertainment. Parents can make money at home to help with all of those expenses without giving up that precious family time that makes it all worthwhile.
For anyone, losing income can be a traumatic event that can devastate the finances. But unfortunately, this is becoming a common problem in many households. The loss of income can occur suddenly and without warning, leaving people to wonder what they will do until they can find another job. In the meantime, there are bills that have to be paid and obligations to be met. This leads to stress and anxiety in the home, which can cause additional problems. Being able to replace lost income immediately and without stress is something that more and more people are accomplishing in order to meet their needs.
For those who are able to make money at home, the Internet has presented them with an amazing opportunity. Not only can money be made right from the comforts of home, but the amount of money that can be made is unlimited. With an unlimited income opportunity available to anyone on the Internet, there's no reason not to try to make money from home.

Make Money at Home to Make Life Easier
The opportunity to make money at home is something that has greatly changed the way that people live and work in today's world. Needing to leave the home in order to make money for the household is no longer the only way to do things--there are better ways to earn the money needed at home. It is possible to earn money at home without having to leave the house and take on the associated costs and hassles that come along with the typical brick-and-mortar based job.
The convenience of being able to make money at home is something that appeals to a lot of people. For people that are able to work without commuting or having to pay for gas or public transportation costs, there can often be a huge savings for a person or a family. Often, gas and other transportation costs are a significant part of the household budget. Sometimes, that can even mean going without something that the family would like in order to pay the commuting expenses. But all of these expenses can be largely eliminated by working at home.
Many parents look for ways to make money at home so that they can continue to participate in family life without having to leave their children behind. Mothers and fathers can earn money without having to use a day care center or a babysitter to watch their children when they leave. This is also a huge savings over the costs associated with using a daycare. Between registration fees and weekly daycare fees and added supply fees, daycare can be an extremely costly proposition. There is no need to do this when a parent can make money by working at home.
When working at home, there is also a convenience factor that can make it the work more productive in less time. Because people who make money at home are doing it on their own schedule, they can choose the times of day that will make them the most productive. Some people simply don't work well in the morning. Work that would take them hours while they are sleepy in the morning may take them only minutes in the evening. And when someone can work for themselves at home, they get to make that call. They get to decide when and where the work is done and they can find their best, most productive time in order to make the work get done sooner. This leaves more time for leisure without cutting into the income that is made.
When someone decides to make money at home, they may wonder whether they have the determination and rive to accomplish what they want. Anyone who believes that they can do it and has the motivation to stay with it can earn as much as they want to when working at home. It's a matter of entrepreneurs believing in themselves and making the time and money investment in themselves rather than in working for someone else at their company and on their terms.

Using Blogging to Make Money Online
Keeping a blog is a great way to communicate with the world and to show your humor, expertise or personality, but it can also be used to make money online. Millions of blogs are kept both to inform people and to market and sell items to those who read the blog. And because blogs are inexpensive or free to use and because they are so popular amongst online readers, they present the perfect marketing and earning tool online.
The basis of any blog that makes money is the ability to grab readers' attention and to get them interested in what the blog is marketing. To bring in traffic and keep them interested, the blogger needs to have some type of valuable content. That means that the content is interesting enough to the reader to keep them reader and keep them coming back. The information can be something that helps them to understand an industry, information that helps them to make purchasing decisions, or information that allows them to solve some type of problem that they have. Sometimes, the content is just funny or engaging, providing plenty of motivation for the readers to keep coming back to read what is posted there next.
All of these types of content build traffic, and traffic is what every blogger seeks in order to have a large pool of customers who may be interested in buying something. This works well for those who are marketing items as affiliates, as well as those who have something listed for sale on the blog itself. The larger traffic numbers mean that there are more people who will be interested in spending money after reading about the topic on the blog. It also means that there are more people to click on ads on the blog. And for those who reach higher traffic numbers, there is also the possibility of selling advertising on the blog, further making money online by earning ad rates each month for ads. Those ads usually pay more for higher traffic levels to the blog. That makes getting the most traffic possible a great way to make money online with a blog.
A blog is also a great place to talk about products and to provide easy links to buy them. For those who don't have products of their own to sell, it's easy to sign up as an affiliate for a company that will pay the blogger each time someone buys one of the items. That means no items to stock and nothing to ship to anyone. Often, the products are informational products that offer a lot of potential buyers, and just need to be adequately described and marketed in order to make huge profits for the affiliate.
Anyone who can make money online can give themselves a great lifestyle by making money while they do something fun. Many online earning opportunities require nothing more than passion and personality in order to make money online, turning a dream into a long and steady stream of online income.

How To Use Information To Make Easy Money Online
One of the best things about the Internet is that there are endless possibilities that lead to anyone being able to make easy money online. Making money doesn't have to be a difficult ordeal. With a little determination and a good plan to follow, there is no one who can't make some money on the Internet without breaking a sweat.
There is so much money being spent online that it can be difficult to fathom it all. People are increasingly moving their shopping and other spending online. One reason for this is all of the information online. Information is a powerful commodity that anyone can wield online to get the attention of those who have money to spend. To make money requires traffic. And to get traffic, you have to have something to offer those who come looking. Information can be offered in a number of ways, but as long as the information is sound, it will attract readers who may stay to buy.
Every successful site, page or marketing plan these days includes some type of information that is used to bring in readers. A gardening site may have articles about gardening techniques. They may use a blog that gives gardening tips. They may have a newsletter to send to anyone who signs up for it. All of these techniques are ways to spread information and to keep people coming back to the site to find out more. But in the end, all of that traffic coming in was brought there in order for those readers to buy something. Not every reader will buy, but with a high enough volume of traffic, some readers will.
Giving out information to attract readers and buyers can be done in any number of ways. One way is to create informational articles that are published online in order to help people solve some type of problem. The articles may also be in-depth information on the topic in general. This information will be informative, but it will also be an enticement to visit a site to learn more about the topic. That's when the readers will have the option to buy something that interests them.
Blogging is a fun activity that many people engage in. In fact, there is estimated to be about 100 million blogs out there in cyberspace. Not all of these will be read, but one that is interesting and informative will be. A blog that directs people to something that they can buy is a way to make easy money online by simply blogging about something that people are interested in. This is a way to have a little fun and to build a name online. And when the name is built and people keep coming back to hear more, the blogger is able to make easy money online with the growing readership. As people come back again and again and more people are brought in through links on other blogs, the increased traffic means increased sales and more money.

The Skills to Make Money Online
Like anyone who makes money with any venture, to make money online requires a few skill sets that turn effort into income. To succeed takes more than just wishing that extra money would start coming in. Some online marketers try to tell new marketers that there is little or nothing required to make money online. However, making money on the Internet takes the businesslike attitude that getting a brick-and-mortar job does.
Perhaps the most important factor in making money on the Internet is to be determined to make it happen. Any important venture requires determination to make it happen, and the Internet is no exception. Like going to a job and taking that responsibility seriously, making money online requires that same dedication. Anyone who is determined to succeed will turn that determination into practical actions that will generate an income.
People skills are another important skill to have when marketing online. Just like in the offline world, someone who is successful in marketing has the ability to reach out to people and to make them interested in what the marketer has to say. This skill requires being able to comfortably talk to people online. Communication is the key when marketing anything. It is this communication that will get your message precisely where it needs to go. Those who communicate well usually have an easier time making money online.
There are so many different types of money making opportunities online that sometimes it can be hard to commit to a single plan. But to be successful, any online marketer should have a plan. There should be one cohesive strategy that will lead to making money. Being a good planner is usually an asset when trying to make money online. It will allow the marketer to create the plan and to stick to it when it's time to get out there and market something to others.
There are many people who have a need to make money. They may have lost their jobs due to cutbacks or business closings. They may have an expanding family or other immediate financial needs that require a higher income. They may simply need more entertainment money to have a more fulfilling life. Whatever the need for money, that is a huge motivating factor for many people. Keeping those financial goals in mind can help a marketer to succeed in making the needed money online. By focusing on the goal, anyone can focus their determination and other skills into making money and succeeding online.
For those who don't know if they have what it takes to make money online, simply taking the time to go out and look for information about how to do it shows determination. It demonstrates that the person is motivated and is ready to act. To make money anytime by using the global power of the Internet, all that person has to do is to focus on that determination. Use all of these skills to stay determined and to finally succeed financially online.

Organic Internet Marketing
There are a number of ways to begin implementing a plan for Internet marketing, and some of those plans are far easier and less expensive than others. In addition to advertising, blogging and a number of other methods deliver a marketing message and bring traffic to the place that the marketer wants it to go. Organic marketing is a way of using search engines as a free way of driving traffic to a specific page or site.
Search engine marketing is a way of getting free, and very effective, attention for any site. Not only does marketing to search engines cost little or nothing, it can also be one of the easiest ways to bring in traffic. Search engines are one of the parts of the Internet that virtually everyone uses. They direct most of the traffic of the Internet, and they do it all at no cost to the sites who show up in the results in those searches. Traffic is driven to the first few pages of the search engine results because those are the most relevant results of the search.
Because people want those first few relevant results, everyone who uses search engines for organic Internet marketing wants those coveted spaces. To get them, however, is not an exact science. There are a lot of ways that people attempt to get their sites and pages into the top spots in search engines, with keywords being the most useful tools. Anyone can use keywords in their sites and their marketing pages to try to get those top spaces.
Keywords are what people search for when they use a search engine. They type in a word or a short phrase that will give them the best results for what they want to find online. Using those keywords prominently in the text of a page will elevate it in the search results for that word or phrase. Using it several times is usually what experts advise for anyone attempting this type of Internet marketing. For some marketers, the exact number of times that a phrase is used is elevated in order to give the page a high percentage of that word or phrase. This is known as the keyword density. However, many marketers believe that using keyword density is not as important as where the keyword is placed on the page.
By making the keywords prominent in a page's headline and subheadings, search engines are thought to pay particular attention to those words on the page. If the keywords can be used in the domain name of the site, that is another big push to get the page situated well in the results of a search engine keyword search.
When Internet marketing makes use of the natural traffic that comes in from search engines, it is tapping one of the largest and most effective marketing machines on the Internet. It uses the foremost traffic drivers in the world to bring the interested readers to find out about what's for sale.

Using Ezine Articles as an Integral Part of Your Article Mar...
Ezine articles can be a terrific piece of your article marketing strategy. It is a very well-respected, highly trafficked site that gets a great deal of attention from both the search engines and the public alike. It sports a very high page rank, which helps your articles get noticed faster, and sometimes your sites indexed a lot quicker. It also has the advantage of creating a lot of traffic itself, and if you article happens to strike a nerve, has the ability to bring you scads of visitors. Let's look at some of the things you should do to ensure that this incredible resource can work well for you.
The first thing to know about Ezine articles is that you will thrive much faster and better if you play by their rules. After all, it is their sandbox, and the owner Chris Knight and his team have put much work into building this into the powerhouse it has become. They have strict terms of service regarding the type of articles they will publish, and also tough guidelines on using promotional links. This can be worked with, if you do it with a little thought and within their rules.
For instance they do not allow affiliate links, however you can post self-serving links in your resource box that point back to a top level domain (not a subdomain or folder) which will allow you to get visitors on to your page or you can redirect from that domain wherever you like. This was done to cut out direct linking to affiliate sites from their site.
There are several levels of accounts available, and the higher up the rung you go, the more attention and quicker turnaound on your submissions you'll receive. For Premium accounts and Platinum level authors, this is usually no longer than 1 day, usually less. When you're first starting out it can be longer.
One resource that is frequently overlooked is to take advantage of the learning opportunities that exist on the blog, forum and other instructional aids. There is a wealth of information contained within from others who have trod this path before you, and you would do well to learn from their experiences.
Another useful tip, at least as far as search engine optimization goes, is that if you are trying to get a page to rank for a particular keyword, be careful just how heavily you optimize your article. Given Ezine Articles authority, your article could easily outrank your web page. How to Fire Up Your Blog Marketing Campaign
So you've decided to create a blog marketing campaign to promote either your main site or business, and are wondering just how to go about it. Well, you should know that this is not rocket science, and people tend to make it a lot harder than it has to be. That said, there are several things you'll want to be sure you are doing, and in this article we'll examine some of those.
There are several schools of thought about the best way to implement a successful blog marketing campaign, and the good news it they all work. The most important thing to remember about an endeavor of this sort is to make a start, and to be consistent. Starting blog or a blog marketing network, making a post or two, and then never reappearing is sure to result in two things: you'll never build a following and the search engines will treat your blog as unimportant, because it is.
First, decide what sort of blog marketing strategy you wish to employ. Do you want to become an authority in your niche, and have a cadre of loyal followers who will hang on your every word and post, or do you want to become a stealth marketer, employing a network of blogs to help raise your money sites and landing pages in the search engines so as to get traffic that way. Either way works, the former just takes more time.
If you are seeking to achieve authority status, here are a handful of things to make sure to do. First, post often and well. Give your readers the best you have, and cater to their every need. Make your blog interactive; conduct polls, answer questions, give away things, have guest bloggers and interviews, be first to break the news about events in your niche, and operate on the philosophy that you can get anything you want if you help others get what they want. You'll soon develop a loyal bunch willing to listen when you've got something to promote.
If you opt to be a stealth marketer, quantity is more important than quality. This means that you (or your outsourcer) are going to construct a number of blogs that have solid content but are primarily designed as linkbait to point to your main sites. This kind of approach depends on volume, and a good blog marketing strategy, wherein you employ solid linking schemes and make good use of Web 2.0 properties to promote your network. This can be done rather quickly, but needs to be done well and with attention to detail.
Making your blog marketing campaign work for you is not that hard, but does require that you and your staff are consistent and not let weeks pass by without attending to business. The concept of set it and forget it does not apply here, as the search engines love fresh content, and you're just the person to give it to them!
Internet Marketing and Search Engines
One of the keys to successful Internet marketing is to understand exactly how search engines work and how important they are to marketing items. Online, most people find items by searching for them with a search engine. Google and Yahoo, the top two search engines, are extremely important in the Internet marketing game because they direct much of the online traffic.
Using search engine placement criteria to give a site or a page a better placement in the search engines results is called search engine optimization. This is creating a site or a page that is written to give it the best placement possible when someone is searching for the topic. With a good placement, many more people will see it in the search results and will click on it to find out more. This is free traffic that is generated by the search engines themselves and requires no advertising or paid placement. This is also called organic traffic.
To get this organic traffic, marketers concentrate on the specific topic that the site or page is about. This topic can be narrowed down into a few main keywords. A keyword can be a word or a short phrase, and it should be something that people will search for. To find out exactly what people are searching for, many marketers go to a keyword tool and type in a few related words to find out what people are searching for the most.
Once a marketer finds out the popular keywords that are related to the topic, those words should be incorporated into the site or page. This is often done by including each of the chosen keywords two to three times per hundred words on the page. This gives the page a keyword density that will optimize the content for the search engines to find. When someone searches for those keywords, the search engine being used will find pages that have those keywords featured prominently in them.
Search engine optimization is important to Internet marketing both because it costs nothing and because it can be one of the biggest traffic drivers to a site. Once a site is made up of content that has a good keyword density, the traffic to that content can be expected to improve. Sometimes this takes time, as search engines often take the age of a site into account, but many people in Internet marketing find that tweaking their information with the right keywords can result in better traffic right away.
One of the best things about search engine optimization is that once it's done, the marketer can concentrate on other aspects of their marketing. The keywords work on their own and don't need anything else from the marketer. That also means that organic traffic can be brought in even if no other marketing is done. And when traffic starts coming in from search engines, there may not be a lot of other Internet marketing that needs to be done for the site or page to be marketed. <a href="http://www.nickmarks.name">www.nickmarks.name</a>
What It Takes to Make Money at Home
Making money in the world of brick and mortar businesses often means needing connections and spending a large amount of money upfront, but it takes different set of requirements to make money at home. This makes it possible for anyone, no matter what their level of income or education, to make money at home with their own small business.
One of the most important things that anyone needs in order to start a successful home business is the passion to succeed. This passion is something that can't be taught and it can't be bought. If a person wants badly enough to succeed in what they are doing online, they have already gained the most important skill of all. When a person has a passion to make their business work, they have the will to keep on trying no matter what the obstacles. It's what takes people from the idea stage to the promotion stage and keeps them earning money long term.
Another important trait that people need to make money at home is the creativity to find new ways to market themselves and to capture people's attention when doing so. There's no need for hiring an advertising firm or a designer for an online business if the business owner has a little imagination. Being able to think of places online where marketing would be effective and then delivering that message well is a reflection of the type of creativity and imagination that is important to online marketing.
Being consistent is something else that people need in order to be able to keep making money from their homes. Consistency means putting in the effort to make money from home on a regular basis. For people who want a part time income form their homes, this may mean spending two hours per day on their business. For those who want to make money at home on a full-time basis, this may mean choosing which days of the week to work and then sticking to that schedule. Some people find that stretching their work time out to a small number of hours every day is preferable to putting in full days just a few days per week. Whichever way a small business owner chooses to operate, it's important to put forth that consistent effort.
While a person may be a consistent person with the passion and drive to make money at home, there is another thing that is a must-have for anyone who wants to succeed with their home business. They need to have a positive attitude toward their efforts. Having a pessimistic view can make the work less enjoyable and can impact the income that results. Someone who feels strongly that they will succeed has a definite advantage with it comes to working efficiently and staying happy while doing so. A business owner should have confidence in their skills and should believe that they will be a success with their home business, even if it takes a little time to find that success. <a href="http://www.nickmarks.name">www.nickmarks.name</a>
Make Money at Home to Reduce Expenses
There are a lot of things that being able to make money at home can provide for a person. There are many advantages besides just the income that it brings in. It can also reduce the expenses that most people have to deal with when they work for someone else. Reducing these expenses means having more money without having to do more work to get it.
One of the most obvious expenses that people have before they start to make money online is their transportation costs. There are so many costs associated with traveling that all of them may not be immediately apparent. The cost of gas is a very real cost that can be hard for some families to afford, but there are plenty of other costs as well. There is also the ongoing expense of maintaining a vehicle that is used for work each day. This includes buying new tires, fixing scratches and changing the oil. When a person can make money at home, those expenses are greatly reduced because the morning and evening commute is eliminated.
For many people, there are the costs of paying tolls during travel, the cost of taking a train or other costs. These can add up to be serious percentages of a family's income over time.
Buying work clothing is also a serious ongoing expense associated with working outside the home. Purchasing work clothing can eat up a lot of a family's budget, especially when an office requires suits and other formal attire. But when a person can make money at home instead, that expense is gone. Casual clothing and even pajamas can be worn each day while the work is being done. This can save hundreds of dollars every month on buying clothes and maintaining clothing with tailoring and repairs. Saving on the cost of dress shoes alone can make a big difference in the yearly budget.
There are a number of smaller expenses that can also build up over time. The cost of eating lunches in a work cafeteria or a fast food restaurant can add up greatly. A person who can make money at home avoids those costs and can eat at home easily and inexpensively. The cost of buying gifts for people at work and chipping in for cakes and other office expenses can also add up in the long run.
For a lot of families, one of the largest expenses they have is their childcare cost. When a parent is able to make money at home, those costs can be either greatly reduced or eliminated all together. While some parents can go without childcare while they make money at home, some bring part-time childcare into their home in order to give them the time they need to work. For families with small children, this can mean they are more able to work while still having the parent and the child together in the home. This is that best of both worlds situation that many people seek out when they start to make money at home. <a href="http://www.nickmarks.name">www.nickmarks.name</a>
Make Easy Money Online to Change Lives
There are many things that can change lives for the better, but being able to make easy money online is a quick way to make anyone's financial circumstances better. There are so many economic problems that make people worry, and increasing the income in the home is the perfect way to ease some of the worries that people have. With more money, bills get paid, debts can be reduced and the household as a whole can feel more financially secure.
Being mired in financial debt is something that no one aspires to, but most people eventually do become bogged down with the amount of debt that they accrue. There is no way around it in many situations. Sometimes medical bills or household needs require the use of credit cards or other loans. This can lead to more and more debt as the interest piles up. Anyone searching for a way to get out of debt and have fewer monthly bills should think about trying to make easy money online in order to clear the debt and have an easier time paying bills.
For anyone who is looking for a way to make money, taking on a second or even third job sometimes looks like an option. And when someone loses their primary income, they may immediately look to the same industry for another job just like it. However, making money online is a viable option that millions of people have discovered in order to make the money they need without having a job that is inconvenient for them.
Working online means being able to work anytime that you want to and anytime that you need money. It doesn't require a set schedule each day or each week. It doesn't even require that you make a predetermined amount of money. How much you make is up to you. This can be a transforming experience for many people, as they suddenly see their efforts turned into money, with the hardest efforts paying off with more money instead of every day paying the same amount as with a traditional job.
This raise in income for a household not only means that there is more money to pay debts, but it has many other ramifications. It means that less debt in the future needs to be accumulated. With more income, there will be no need to charge everyday items or to take out loans to pay for what is needed. Having more income also means that the person who can make easy money online will have more income that can be spent on leisure and entertainment activities. With some budgets, those activities just aren't possible. But when a person has that extra income, they are free to engage in a range of hobbies, outings and even vacations. Having more income means having a whole new range of options that didn't exist before. It means a better lifestyle with less worry about debt and income, and it means less worrying about job security in an uncertain world. <a href="http://www.nickmarks.name">www.nickmarks.name</a>
