Well one precious little girl was very high functioning, and she was ready to learn to swing. I sat her on one swing, and I sat on the swing next to her. I slowly began to swing with big motions so she could imitate me, which she did. I was so proud of her! On the third swing, my swing came off the hinges and I went flying about ten feet through the air.
I came down very hard square on my bottom. It knocked the wind right out of me. It took me a good minute to regain my senses and get up. Of course, I could not say or do anything to cause alarm, as my poor children with special needs would not be able to handle seeing their teacher injured.
What Happened:
I went over to check the swing. I wanted to see if I had broken it or something. When I looked, what do you think I saw? Some prankster had tampered with the special education swings and rigged it to come off when the swing was in motion. I was so thankful I was on it and not the little girl. Nevertheless, I was severely injured.

Swelling or bruising around the injured area. There may also be bleeding.
Weakness or inability to use the muscle.
Diagnosis of the Injury

RICE Treatment
The best way to treat your strain after the injury is with RICE:

Compression - An elastic compression bandage helps minimize swelling and blood loss.
